TraAct-DD - Track and Act with Data Donation #getout #stayout
Luxembourg is entering a gradual deconfinement phase. For this to be successful, it is critical that the country protect vulnerable people and build the trust of the population in going back to work, to school safely. It is also vital to identify asymptomatic COVID-positive patients and to wisely direct the (scarce) tests. If Luxembourg can manage this, epidemiological models indicate that a gradual release of the population may stem the pandemic and enable return to normal (#getout, #stayout). The ongoing debate at the government level indicates hesitation between blue-tooth tracing, ma...
Easy ambulatory diagnostic profilometry for Covid19 symptoms tracking: computed in Luxembourg
This project contributes to the following work packages: WP01: Infection prevalence, WP02: Predictive markers for covid-19 severity, WP05:real-time epidemiological data on COVID-19 positive or suspected cases treated in the ambulatory setting, WP07 : map and analyse COVID-19 incidence in Luxembourg, WP05 : exit strategy and 'controlled return to normalisation'. In order to easily track symptoms and severity of Covid19 diagnosed or suspected subjects, we propose a simple ambulatory diagnostic system for creating a functional capacity profilometry of an individual with modular approaches i...
An integrative network-based drug repurposing approach for COVID-19
We aim at analyzing the publicly available transcriptomics data generated by exposing human lung epithelial cells to SARS-CoV particles and measuring the differences in the gene expression. We will use a molecular network analysis approach to identify a set of key genes, that represent key regulators in the SARS-CoV gene expression signature. This signature will be filtered to distinguish pathological from protective responses and used to identify drugs that could potentially reverse pathological features of the disease phenotype based on the anti-correlation of known drug-response gene exp...
AICovIX - AI based diagnosis of Covid-19 from CT/X-Ray imaging
The gold standard for Covid-19 diagnosis is RT-PCR for SARS-CoV-2 from the upper airways. This method suffers from decreased accuracy in more severe disease stages affecting the lower airways. False negative PCR tests in severe cases impose a massive risk to the health system, promoting intra-hospital disease spread in the actual pandemic situation. Reports from China indicate false negative PCR from upper airway samples in severe Covid-19 pneumonia in more than 50% of the cases. Therefore, complementary tests for the detection of these dangerous cases are urgently needed. The value of che...
A unified web-based platform for viral phylogeny, proteomics and genomics research in real-time
We propose the development of an integrated web-based data exploration tool for genomics, proteomics, phylogeny, evolutionary and geographical data on SARS-CoV-2 samples from Luxembourg supporting researchers and physicians to gauge the potential impact of viral evolution on virulence and transmission dynamics but also the efficacy of molecular detection methods. Integrating different data sources and visualisation modes through a graphical web-interface will offer a unique perspective on the pathogen and serve as tools to assess potential imminent risks.
Phylodynamic real-time monitoring of SARS-CoV-2 genomes
The current Covid-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 visus is an extreme world wide challenge to mankind's health. Current approaches to manage this challenge rely on reliable testing as well as the development of vaccination which both depend on the stability of specific sequences of the viral genome. Sequencing of viral genomes from patient samples provides deep insights on pathogen dynamics in terms of phylogeny and evolution allowing for spreading analysis and adaptation of molecular diagnostic and prevention strategies. Hence, the automatic dynamic analysis of data derived from v...
DICO-Lux: DIgital Covid-19 Observatory In LUXembourg: An Open Tool For SARS-COV-2 Crisis Manageme...
Monitoring online activities for public health purposes has been investigated since the first days of the digital epidemiology field early 2010s, with the objective of capturing health-related trends and model disease outbreaks. Most famous examples of internet surveillance were developed for the flu, influenza AH1N1, the Zika virus or Ebola. We now have the opportunity to leverage both the digital data available online and the appropriate Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Text Mining methods to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. The main objective of the DICO-LUX project is to rapidly d...
